Urban Veda make natural skincare products based on the Indian traditional holistic system of Ayurveda. This essentially categorises people into 'doshas', which describe one's personality and physical traits such as skin type. Urban Veda have made skincare products to suit each 'dosha', and you can take a quiz to find out your dosha and good products for your skin type here. Mine is 'Pitta' or 'sensitive' - no surprises there!
On top of this, they're a brilliantly ethical company. They're certified as vegan friendly by The Vegetarian Society (I didn't know that was a thing?! It is!), their packaging is both recycled and recyclable and is Forest Sustainability Certified. They're also completely cruelty free, and support the charity 'Trees For Cities'. I adore having the chance to try out new ethical companies, so I'm so glad Urban Veda got in touch!
The Soothing Body Wash is the most lovely, gentle body wash I've used in a while. Whilst I always use gentle, natural soaps, the milky texture of this body wash makes it so soft on the skin. It has a gorgeous fresh smell, and left my skin feeling super smooth and silky, which honestly is no easy feat. It definitely soothed the redness and itchiness in my legs, were I suffer from quite bad eczema, so truly this body wash is a godsend. A little goes a wonderfully long way too, which is brilliant. I often find that milky textured washes don't lather up as well, but that certainly isn't the case here! Usually with my skin, I have to rotate between different body washes and soaps to keep my skin calm, and this is definitely becoming a key part of my hoard of skin products!
The Soothing Exfoliating Facial Polish is equally marvellous. It definitely does what it says on the tin, or er, tube. My skin always feels so soft and refreshed after using this, and it provides a really gentle exfoliation, rather than a full-on scrubbing. My skin always feels nice and plump and so incredibly soft when I've used this polish. I generally prefer facial polishes to full-on exfoliants as they tend to leave a moisturising 'residue' behind, which works much better on my sensitive skin. This is no different, and I really love the results from using it.
Have you tried any new skincare products out lately? Let me know!
