Blogtober #1 // Shiverpool

Hello Spookies! It's October, the best month of the year, and time to embark on Blogtober! I've never tried Blogtober or a blogging-marathon before so fingers crossed it goes well, eh? I have a pretty intense month ahead, having just begun a Masters degree and being about to start working as seasonal Halloween staff in a costume shop, so hopefully that will give me lots to talk about rather than making me produce an inconsistent mess of posts.

Last night I put September to bed and welcomed the month of spooky by going on a Shiverpool ghost tour with my family. We'd had a wonderful find of Wowcher vouchers so the tickets were a steal at only £7 each (however I'd be totally willing to pay full price!). After a couple of emails we were booked on to the Hope Street Shivers tour, which is one of three that they run. This was actually the second time I'd done the tour but it was just as fun as the first time!

The tour starts outside the beautiful and historical Philharmonic pub, where you are met with two ghoulish and witty guides. From the moment you meet them and they check your booking, they are hilarious, energetic, and personal. Immediately you feel part of the whole experience and it remains that way throughout.

You are taken on an amazing tour of some of Liverpool's most historical and notable locations, where your brilliant tour guides give you an informative overview of the history of the area, followed by a macabre tale of hauntings and horror. The tour is packed with humour, interaction, and scares, with our beautiful city as a backdrop. With Shiverpool, even crossing the road becomes an adventure!

If ghost stories and tales of a dark nature are up your alley, then I absolutely couldn't recommend Shiverpool more. Having been on many a ghost walk, Shiverpool is by far the best and totally unique to any other. The combination of ghouls and scouse humour makes for an unforgettable experience!
