Lush Spa Goody Bag

Hello Spookies! You may have noticed (due to me refusing to shut up about it) that I was lucky enough to win a treatment at the Lush Spa in Liverpool. I chose to have The Sound Bath treatment, and it was ah-ma-zing. You can read all about the experience here. That post does contain spoilers and photos about The Lush Spa, and I know some people love the mystery around it, so you have been warned! This post however, is Spa spoiler free! They were super kind and generous and gave me a wonderful goody bag after my treatment, packed with exciting products which I'm thrilled about!

The Sound Bath at Lush Spa Liverpool

In case anyone missed it (which I highly doubt as I've been telling anyone who'll listen), I was lucky enough to win a treatment at Lush Spa Liverpool* in a charity raffle at the Liverpool Blogger Event! A few days after the event, the lovely Megan called me and we arranged my appointment. She recommended either The Spell or The Sound Bath treatment for me, and I opted for The Sound Bath as it sounded totally unique and really peaceful (and it was!).  This post is going to be quite photo heavy and contain details about The Lush Spa, particularly The Sound Bath treatment so if you want to keep it all mysterious and a surprise then scroll no further!

Liverpool Blogger Events // The Goodybag

The goodybags we received at the end of the Liverpool Blogger Meet were so generous and cool! Of course, goodybags aren't the reason for going to events as nothing is quite as lovely as getting to meet so many fabulous bloggers, but it's still really fun getting home and looking through them! Who doesn't like being given nice things?

Liverpool Blogger Events

On Saturday I was lucky enough to go to the Liverpool Blogger Event. I can't believe I almost didn't buy a ticket, so thank you Codie for persuading me - I am so glad I came along!

October Favourites

Hello Spookies! November has come around waaayyy too quickly! That means it's time for a favourites post (naturally). I'm excited for all things Christmassy but a little sad that Halloween was over so quickly so it's nice to look back over the last month of spookiness.

The 11 Things Tag

Hello spookies! The lovely Hannah tagged me to do the 11 Things tag. I really enjoy reading people's answers to tags, and they always remind me a little of the days of 'Facebook notes' quizzes (only much less cringey!). I've had a busy, kinda stressful week with not much exciting to chat about so have some tag answers!

St. James Gardens, The Welmsford, & Cathedral

Freddie and I decided to go to Liverpool and spend some time at the Anglican Cathedral and St. James' Gardens - two very beautiful places. After a stressful start to the day, we got to Liverpool a little later than planned but ended up having a really nice time. Warning for this post being really rather photo heavy!

Sweater Weather Tag

notebook: Caroline Gardner* / pencil case: Mantaray

It's definitely no secret that I adore Autumn and literally everything about it. When I saw that Hannah had done the Sweater Weather Tag, I simply had to pinch it. The questions are just so cute!

Top 5 Spooky Movies (Ode to Tim Burton)

It's October, which basically means a month-long celebration of all things spooky, ghouly, and strange (it does to me, anyway!). Naturally, this means a month full of creepy movies, sugary snacks, and the purchasing of all things ghostly. Of course. As much as I personally love horror, it's not for everyone, so here are my top five spooky movies for Halloween.

A Sugary and Spooky Dorkface Shop Haul

When the amazing Jemma, who not only has a fabulous blog, but is also a truly brilliant person, opened her Etsy store, I was super excited. When she then filled it with gorgeous spooky and kawaii goodies, I could not resist buying a few lovely bits and bobs.

10 Reasons Why Autumn Is The Best

I absolutely love Autumn and Winter, and it's hard to choose which is my favourite. This post is all about the joys of Autumn though, so let's stick with that. What makes autumn so special?

#NWmeet - My First Blogger Meet

I was lucky enough to attend my first ever blogger meet up, #NWmeet, on Saturday. I was so happy to be invited, especially as my blog is pretty new! It was hosted by Katy and Sammy in aid of The Recovery Bag Project, an extremely important cause. It was such a wonderful experience, which I am so grateful for. I warn you now, this post is going to be rather photo-heavy!

Dogs Trust Fun Day!

Yesterday, Freddie, his dad, and I took his dogs to a Dogs Trust fun day in Hutyon. Obviously I was bursting with excitement over the promise of doggies, cute little stalls, and other dog-themed activities.

The weather was beautiful and there were so. many. dogs. I was in dog-petting heaven. I think I petted at least 40 different dogs. We entered Freddie's dogs into one of the light-hearted dog shows that were on throughout the afternoon - the most handsome dog class. The adorable Patrick won fourth place! He was also rather good at the have-a-go agility course, which was hilarious to watch.

Here he is looking rather proud of himself!

The stalls were lovely, with lots of tombolas, lovely independent pet companies, including a doggie graze box company which I thought was really cool. We bought some dog lucky-dips for Patrick and Morse, and I ended up buying myself a Dogs Trust bag and mug, and a Jack Russel calendar. I just couldn't resist! I also got to hold some ferrets named Ronnie, Muffin, and Flossy and I think I fell in love. They were so cute and just wanted to snuggle into my jacket and fall asleep. I definitely think ferrets are hugely underrated now.

Ronnie, my new, true love <3

The most important thing to remember is what an important cause the day was in aid of. Dogs Trust ensure that healthy dogs in their care are not euthanized, and provide permanent homes for dogs that can not be re-homed*. The care and re-homing of dogs, which are sometimes troubled from unpleasant experiences, is a huge job yet they do this and so much more! As a charity, they depend on the public to help them raise the funds to do this wonderful work. They're a cause close to my heart as my sweet Cally was a rescue dog, as are Freddie's dogs. The thought of any poor animal being abandoned breaks my heart, so it's comforting to know that Dogs Trust are there to give them brilliant care until they find their forever home. If you're getting a dog, please consider adopting rather than buying from a breeder. There are so many lovely doggies in rescue centres full of love to give you!

You can find out more about Dogs Trust and everything they do here, including adopting or sponsoring dogs.

A Slice of Internet

So, this is a first blog post, I guess. It's now my summer break from university and in a vain attempt to put off updating (read: writing) my CV and applying for more part-time work, I've finally made a blog. I'm Kiah Page and I'm a 20 year old who is very much still in denial over the lack of 'teen' at the end of my age. I like animals, food, make-up and documentaries. I've just finished my second year of a psychology degree, and I'm hoping to work with animals (less like the dog whisperer, more like Jane Goodall if all goes to plan), but that's all in the big, scary, adult, future. For now, I'm just working hard and spreading positivity wherever I go. Welcome to my blog, I hope you enjoy your stay!
